What Rebirth costs you, and what it gives back
Rebirth is the only system in Anime Dice that takes something away. Pressing it resets your cash balance. The panel's circular-arrows icon is not a refresh button — it is a transaction, and the game does not undo it.
In exchange you get permanent multipliers that apply to every future roll and every future cash tick. The one documented example is a step costing $500M that raises both the Luck multiplier and the Cash multiplier from 2x to 2.5x. That is a 25% relative increase on the Luck side — not 25% of your total income, but 25% more Luck on top of what you already had, forever.
Two other things are documented about Rebirth, and both change how you should think about it:
- Rebirth is the only way to get more plot slots. A recorded play session notes that "the only way you get more spots in this game is if you rebirth." Since empty pads are the most expensive thing on an account, that alone makes Rebirth a progression requirement rather than a flex.
- Your cash comes back fast. The same recorded session rebirthed at $500M and was back to $220M shortly after, from the same units that were already on the plot. The reset removes your cash, not your units, your dice tier or your upgrades.
The $500M requirement and the 2x → 2.5x multiplier are the single documented data point. The community hub that recorded it states explicitly that it "is an example, not the requirement for every rebirth." Read your own Rebirth panel before you commit — the requirement for your next step may differ from the one recorded here.
What resets and what does not
This is the question that decides whether Rebirth is a good idea, so it is worth being precise about the split.
| Kept | Reset |
|---|---|
| Every unit on your plot and in storage | Your cash balance |
| Your dice tier — you do not rebuy the dice | Unspent cash you were saving for a purchase |
| Permanent multipliers from previous Rebirths | — |
| Upgrade nodes you have already purchased | — |
| Your Index and collection progress | — |
| Redeemed codes — they stay redeemed | — |
| Plot slots gained from Rebirth | — |
The important consequences:
Spend before you reset. Any cash you are sitting on is destroyed. If you were saving toward a dice tier you cannot reach, the correct move is to dump that cash into Money and Luck nodes first — you keep the nodes, and you lose the cash either way. The recorded session does exactly this: it spent 260M on Luck and Money immediately before rebirthing.
Sell your spare inventory first. Excess units can be sold for a final cash boost before the button. This only helps if you are spending that cash on upgrades in the same session, which brings us to the checklist below.
Codes do not come back. Redeeming is bound to your Roblox account. Rebirth resets your cash, not your redemption history, so a code you used before the reset cannot be used again after it.
The pre-Rebirth checklist
Run this in order. It takes about two minutes and it is the difference between a Rebirth that accelerates you and one that sets you back.
- Read your own panel. Note the current cash requirement and the multiplier you would gain. Confirm the gain is worth more to you than the cash you are about to lose.
- Claim your offline earnings. Cash accrues while you are away; do not reset before collecting what has already been generated.
- Run Equip Best. This protects your strongest units in your active lineup before you touch inventory.
- Sell everything you are not keeping. Filler units become cash, and cash becomes upgrades.
- Spend down to a working balance. Put the surplus into Money and Luck nodes. Damage and Health are wasted here unless you are actively pushing Tower floors.
- Confirm the multiplier changed before you rebuild. If the panel shows the same value afterwards, stop and re-read it rather than assuming.
- Rebuild with the better multipliers. Collect from your existing plot, then buy the next dice tier with the improved cash flow.
Step 7 is the payoff, and it is the reason Rebirth is not scary. Because your units and dice tier persist, your income after a reset starts from the same placed units that were already earning. The recorded session went from the reset back to $220M in a short window. Your first Rebirth costs you a cash balance; it does not cost you progress.
Should you Rebirth at all?
Yes, and early. There is a natural instinct to treat a cash reset as a loss, especially in a game where cash is the thing you look at all session. The design of the multipliers argues the other way: a permanent Luck multiplier compounds against every roll you will ever make, and a cash balance is a snapshot.
The one case for delaying is if you are very close to a dice tier purchase whose Luck gain exceeds the Rebirth multiplier you would gain. If the next tier is within a short session's earnings, buy it first — you keep the dice through the reset, so you get both. If it is a long grind away, buying it first means sitting on a large unspent balance across many sessions, which is exactly the situation Rebirth punishes.
A practical rule: Rebirth when the cash you are holding is more than you can usefully spend on upgrades in the next session. Below that threshold, buy upgrades. Above it, reset.
Rebirth versus the dice ladder
These two systems are the two halves of your Luck growth, and they trade off against each other.
- The dice ladder gives a large, discrete Luck jump that roughly doubles per tier, and it persists through Rebirths. It costs cash — from $500K at the bottom to $1.5T at the top.
- Rebirth gives a smaller, permanent, multiplicative gain, and it takes cash away. It also grants the plot slots you need to keep scaling.
Because the dice tier survives the reset, buying a tier and rebirthing are not exclusive choices — you can do both in either order. The efficient sequence is usually: buy the tier you can reach, spend the remainder on nodes, then Rebirth, then rebuild at the higher multipliers toward the next tier. The best dice page covers which tiers are worth buying versus skipping, and the Luck guide explains how the multiplier stacks against the ladder.
Unconfirmed
Be aware of the gaps, because Rebirth is the system where guessing is most expensive:
- The full Rebirth schedule. Only one step is documented. Costs and multiplier values for later steps have not been recorded in the material reviewed here.
- Plot slot counts per Rebirth. The community records that Rebirth grants more spots; it does not record how many, or at which steps.
- Whether the Cash multiplier always moves in step with the Luck multiplier. The one documented example moves both together, from 2x to 2.5x. That may not hold at every step.
Read the panel. It is the only authority on your account.
